Preschool timeline and details:

Preschool will follow a different schedule from the K-8 Grandparents Day:

Preschool will be singing a song for Grandparents outside our preschool classroom (depending on weather it may be inside). You are welcome to take family pictures outside after they are done singing.

  • Pre-K 2 will be singing at 9:20
  • Pre-K 1 will be singing at 9:40.

Grandparents Day mass will begin at 10:15. If you or a grandparent will be taking your child to church, please let your child’s teacher know ahead of time and sign them out. Donuts will be provided in Murray Hall following mass for students and families attending.

To make room for all the grandparents at church, Pre-K 2 as a class will not be attending.

**Visitors will be visiting classrooms after our liturgy. Please ensure visitors are not visiting the K-8 classrooms prior to mass. Details for meeting up with students is below.

Timeline and Details for K-8 students and visitors:

10:00am– K-8 Students will be dismissed from their classrooms and will go to their carline dismissal lines on the blacktop.  Grandparents and special friends are asked to go to these grade-level lines to meet up with their STA student(s).  We ask that our visitors let the teacher or instructional aide know when they are taking a student with them from the line.

Students who do not have grandparents and special friends visiting will stay with their classroom teacher during mass and afterwards.

Once our visitors are connected with our students, they may enter the church and find a seat.  The church will be very full.  All are encouraged to find a seat anywhere in the church and to create space for as many people as possible in each row.

10:15am- Liturgy in the St. Therese Parish church

11:15am-11:55am– Donuts, coffee, and a photo opportunity will be available in Murray Hall. Shaded seating will be available outside of Murray Hall for grandparents, special friends, and students to enjoy time together.

Teachers will be in their classrooms after mass until 11:55pm.  STA students are encouraged to bring their guests to visit their classrooms.

If a grandparent or special friend wishes to check a student out of campus before dismissal, they must (1) be listed in FACTS as a pickup contact and (2) check the student out with their teacher or the front office before leaving campus.

11:55am– At 11:55, we will have students to return to their classrooms to collect their belongings and gather with their class for an orderly dismissal.   At this time, visitors may wait for their students on the blacktop or in the carline.

12:00pm– Students will be dismissed to their class locations on the blacktop with their teachers and aides.

Thank you so much for helping us make Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day the best one yet. I look forward to greeting those who shape the lives of our students in such profound ways.

With gratitude,

Ali Knoll

Principal, St. Therese Academy
