We have postponed our first day of school until Tuesday, 8/22/2023. The following email was sent to our STA families on Sunday, 8/20/2023:
Dear STA Families,
As San Diego faces an unprecedented Tropical Storm warning, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our first day of classes until Tuesday, August 22nd. Postponing will give our school site a chance to assess and address potential damages in the wake of Tropical Storm Hilary, so that we are fully ready to greet students on their first day of school. As heavy rainfall, flash flooding, power outages, and intense winds are projected for San Diego County, we are praying for the safety of each of our families and all those affected by this storm system.
Tuesday will be a PE day for all of our students and the remainder of the week will remain as planned.
As a reminder, here is the dress code for next week (Expectations linked here):
Tuesday, August 22nd: PE Uniform
Wednesday, August 23rd: Regular Dress Uniform
Thursday, August 24th: PE Uniform
Friday, August 25th: Spirit Dress Day
Our faculty and staff are thrilled to welcome our students back on Tuesday and truly look forward to a wonderful first day of school. If it is unsafe for your students to come to school on Tuesday, please let Tasha in the front office know and we will work with you to support your student. We hope to host our parents for coffee after morning assembly on Tuesday as was planned for tomorrow. I will communicate details as soon as we are able to confirm arrangements.
Please stay safe, and we’ll see you all soon!
With gratitude,
Ali Knoll
Principal
