Each year the Sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Queen of Peace coordinate an annual Christmas distribution at the Casa de los Pobres (House of the Poor) in Mexico. Over 1,700+ impoverished families receive a chicken, masa to make traditional Christmas tamales, rice, beans, canned vegetables, fruit, and a bag of donated candy to make their Christmas festivities a little sweeter! Families also receive blankets, jackets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shoes, and toys for the children!
Our St. Therese Academy students/families are invited to donate part of their Halloween candy (“treasure”) which will be used for the Christmas distribution. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are also greatly appreciated! Bring your donations to the STA school office after Halloween (November 3rd – 14th).
Thank you for your participation!
